Claiming on CIGNA’s dental plans couldn’t be easier. All the member needs to do is follow the steps below:

• Visit their dentist for their usual check-up. The dentist will assess the patient’s teeth and let them know about any treatment they might need.
• The patient can then arrange to have their dental treatment carried out by their dentist – although CIGNA should be contacted first for authorisation if any major treatment is needed*.
• Following their treatment the member would ask their dentist to complete the claim form, and they would pay their dentist upfront.
• The member would then forward the fully completed claim form to CIGNA, with the original receipts attached.
• CIGNA would then quickly refund the member for all valid claims with a turnaround time of just 10 days for valid claims.

*If the member needs any major treatment they must contact the CIGNA dental helpline on 01475 492 351 for authorisation before receiving any treatment. CIGNA will confirm if the treatment can go ahead or if any more information is needed. If this is the case CIGNA will contact the member’s dentist on their behalf to receive their treatment plan and x-rays for consideration. The member will then be provided with a breakdown of all treatment that will be reimbursed and all x-rays will be returned to the dentist.
