The Position:
To work alongside business partners to provide management information to the business to support client and business needs. This is a role that is built on strong technical and commercial acumen to create business solutions through well written reports from available data.
Scope:
The management of information necessary to achieve profitability through the producing and analysing monthly data reports, developing new ways of using information and contributing to the broader understanding of information throughout the company. This will be done primarily through assisting underwriters and actuarial but will include working with the UK management team, business line managers, account managers, health management services and other business areas. Also reporting and presenting findings/recommendations to the UK management team.
Main duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain a series of reports that must be produced regularly.
- Be responsible for client management information reporting.
- Be responsible for investigating and prioritising system change requests.
- Review all standard reports for reasonability of information as well as accuracy.
- Focus on providing and analysing data for the use of internal and external customers.
- Build strong relationships with other departments, including systems, operations, sales and marketing.
- Develop an understanding of the drivers of profitability for the business
- Develop an understanding of when underwriting and actuarial information is critical to ensuring profitability.
- Have the ability to guide people from other areas through reports and increase their understanding of the information the reports contains.
Experience Required:
- Work experience in a statistical or analytical environment with a background in reporting.
- Computer programming or clinical knowledge would be an advantage.
- Be proficient in business objects/crystal/enterprise, AS400 query and EXCEL among other PC applications.
- Knowledge of health care, Structured Query Language, or Eurocare data.
Education/professional qualifications required:
- Degree in a mathematical or economics discipline with a statistical bias.
- Possibly an MBA with a mathematical bias.
