Role:
You will become a senior member of the Europe, Middle East & Asia Sales team who will efficiently execute
market entry and the new business sales strategy, as agreed with the Regional Sales Director.
You will develop, implement and manage the strategy to grow the international portfolio profitably,
achieving significant market share in Hong Kong.
In practice, this is both challenging and exciting, requiring you to develop a detailed understanding of every
aspect of the international business. This will require you to be involved with all our departments
making this a demanding yet ultimately very rewarding role.
You will preferably be a university graduate. More importantly, you will have high levels of sales experience a
t a senior level, backed up by excellent leadership, interpersonal and influential skills and be fluent in English with
Cantonese and Mandarin a distinct advantage.

Main duties/Responsibilities:
- Generate and follow up new business leads to meet sales and profitability targets in line
with overall strategy.
- Research and develop new business opportunities within assigned industry
categories/market segments.
- Assess prospective clients with existing expatriate insurance arrangements to
identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Act as adviser to clients on all aspects of their expatriate medical insurance
requirements.
- Keep abreast of all developments in the market both client and competitor-related,
contributing to new product development/business initiatives accordingly.
- Report to Regional Sales Director on sales/renewal business achieved etc, in line
with agreed format.
- Participate in specific projects, e.g. review of service standards, development of
product literature as may be requested by Regional Sales Director.
- Develop proactive strategy, with regular reviews, maximising specific opportunities as they
arise.
- Research and develop new business opportunities and products.
- Review service regularly to ensure retention of existing business.
- Raise profile of international business both internally and externally, establishing
CIGNA as a recognised authority in this field.
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reviews and monitor performance / expenditure against
these, initiating corrective actions as appropriate.
- Report on relevant management information on regular basis in conjunction with
finance and underwriting.
- Implement necessary controls and procedures in conjunction with functional managers
as appropriate.
- Liaise with internal departments, e.g. underwriting, claims teams, marketing, in line
with established procedures to ensure optimum service to client.
- Liaise with other CIGNA worldwide offices to develop opportunities.
Scope and Dimensions:
Reports directly to the Regional Sales Director.
Responsible for own portfolio of business.
Forms part of the Europe, Middle East and Asia Sales Team for CIEB.
Depending on the pace of expansion responsible for hiring additional sales people.
Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years experience in international / expatriate healthcare provision at senior or sales-related
level with a focus not only on growth but also on profitability.
Ability to work independently to achieve ambitious new business targets.
Education/professional qualifications required
Graduate level preferred but not essential.
Fluency in English is essential with Cantonese and Mandarin preferred.
Qualification in business administration/sales skills.
