Accounts/Reconciliation Assistant

Greenock

 

Position:

To assist in the reconcilation of a large volume of bank statements and the processing of high volumes of multi-currency payments claims payments for the four business units which operate mainly in the UK and Spain.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile a large number of bank reconciliations to support the service delivered to the Business Units on a monthly basis.
  • Investigate old reconciling items and help improve the reconciliations status.
  • Work within the Treasury Team processing multi-currency electronic payments, cheque disbursements, daily banking, standing orders, currency rates and accounts payable through Oracle.

Experience Required:

  • Experience of high volume reconciliations/payment processes,preferably some experience utilizing Autorek or other reconciliation packages.
  • Experience of high volume reconciliations/payment processes preferably in a multicurrency environment.
  • Work within Treasury Team processing mult- currency
  • Good Excel skills

Skills:

  • Basic accounting knowledge with understanding of double entry book keeping
  • Ability to prioritise activities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team
  • Ability to understand overall perspective while attentive to detail

Education:

  • Ideally qualified to Secondary school education level.
  • Further education level qualifications beneficial in a relevant area
